Weaving is a method of textile production in which two distinct sets of yarns or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth. The cloth is usually woven on a loom, a device that holds the warp threads in place while filling threads are woven through them [from Wikipedia].
When weaving was invented, people started to make fabric and sew clothes. It was a huge leap forward for the mankind. This craft is one of the most important among all folk clothing crafts.
Here are the samples of Crimean Tatar (ethnic group that lives on the Crimean Peninsula, the northern coast of the Black Sea) traditional weaving. The woven pieces of cloth are vintage and are a part of a museum collection.
