Beautiful woven pattern on huipil from Chichicastenango (Guatemala). Huipil is the traditional blouse worn in several countries of American continent: Guatemala, Mexico, etc. This blouse or tunic originates from Maya culture.

The patterns on huipiles are woven, not embroidered. On this particular huipil, only the neckline is adorned with embroidery – the shape of decorations look like the sun rays.

Colorful weaving on Guatemalan traditional blouse huipil. Bright patterns need a lot of skill to make and look so cheerful and charming.
