Traditional clothing of Tunisia is bright, beautifully embroidered and designed specially for the hot climate of this country. Traditionally Tunisian folk costume is rather modest and covers most of the body (not only women’s clothing, but men’s as well). One of the main reasons is that fabric protects skin from the hot sun. Tunisian women often wear kerchiefs or other headgears (for example, fez).
Modern female garments designed in Tunisian style can be rather alluring – made from light fabric, tight-fitting and very feminine. Though they still usually are embroidered and colorful.
Male outfits are very comfortable and sometimes look even a little royally. All those loose robes with embroidery and fez indicate the features of the Arab World.

Tunisian traditional clothing from Bizerte (city in North Tunisia, the northernmost city in Africa) and Jerba (island that belongs to the Tunisian territory). These outfits are like they’re from different cultures.
