Italian fashion in the 16th century

Male attire from the Cinquecento period (the 1500s) in Europe. This is a 16th-century Italo-Spanish costume. These two countries were dominant in fashion in the 1500s.
You can see the jerkin – a close-fitting, short-sleeved jacket worn over the doublet. Jerkins were often made from leather, but fabric was also used.
