As for me, shoes are the most interesting and unusual part of Mexican national costume. There are several types of traditional Mexican men's shoes: huaraches, Mexican pointy boots and Mexican cowboy boots. Cowboy boots are nice, but pretty usual for both Americas, while huaraches and pointy boots are unique.
Huaraches are very common in Mexico. Usually they are made from leather. They are always handmade.
Mexican pointy boots have narrow and elongated toe. Sometimes their toe is up to 1.5 meter (5 feet) long and curved up to the knees of a man. Mexican pointy boots are often colorful, decorated with such elements as flashing LED lights, disco balls and even mirrors. They are used by bands, singers and dancers.
