Inuit women were highly respected by all the members of a family, because they were sewing clothes for everyone. And in Greenland you can survive only with proper and high-quality attire. Years ago people in Greenland couldn’t just go shopping and buy warm clothing. They had to make it by themselves. Men hunted and brought skins; women worked with those skins, made leather, fur, and suede, sewed clothes, and decorated it. There is even an Inuit saying: “A man is what his wife makes him”. It means that the life of a man depends on his wife’s skills in making good clothing. A skillful woman had all the chances to get married.

They can't just go out and buy poncho clothing from https://ozponcho.com.au/. That's really interesting! It's amazing to think about the hard work and skill that went into making the clothing that was needed to survive in Greenland. I'm sure it was a difficult job, and the fact that women were so respected for it is really inspiring. It's also great to see that skilled women were rewarded with marriage opportunities. It's a testament to the importance of hard work and skill in this society, and the value placed on the work of women.
