The traditional outfits of Tanzania are bright and patterned but rather modest in design. Below the knee length dresses without a deep décolleté are used by women. Long robes or shirts with trousers are used by men.
Here you are some photos. On the first one, two girls are pictured. The orange & black dress is the folk dress from Tanzania; the red & black dress is from Cote d'Ivoire. Of course, they aren’t usually worn with jeans and sneakers). These girls just put the dresses on to show the design, dress cut, and patterns on the fabric.
On the second photo, you can also see two girls. The one at the right is in a female dress from Cote d'Ivoire. The one at the left is wearing a male blue patterned shirt. This shirt isn’t used by women – we just wanted to show you how the men’s clothing in Tanzania looks like).
