Ukrainian hand-woven garments

Ukrainian traditional aprons called “zapaska”. Ovruch district, Zhytomyr region of Ukraine (northern part of the country), the end of the 19th – the beginning of the 20th century. These aprons are hand-woven from wool. You can see woven patterns typical for this area.

Ukrainian traditional hand-woven garments – wrap-around skirt called “plakhta” and colorful belt. Central Ukraine, the early 20th century. The woven motifs are so cute!

Ukrainian traditional hand-woven wrap-around skirt and apron. You can see beautiful patterns on this apron, and there are so many of them! So much work!
