Lovely 16th-century attire in a portrait. Woman from Nürnberg in a dancing dress by Albrecht Dürer, 1500. By the way, her headdress is called “steuchlein” and it’s German.

Odd 16th-century fashion. Outfit of Maurice, Elector of Saxony. Exhibited in Residenzschloss Dresden, Germany. Wouldn’t it look scandalous today?

Fancy European doublet from about 1580. It is beautifully decorated with metallic thread embroidery, bows, and charming buttons. And this garment is for men). From The Met.
