Indian national costume

Traditional Indian clothing is very popular around the world. It is worn not only by Indians but also by people of many other countries and nationalities. The traditional women’s dress is so very popular. And I can totally understand this fact. Indian female folk clothing is very delicate, beautiful, ornate, and feminine. It is called “sari”. And there are dozens of ways to drape a sari. The design of sari depends on the region, marital status, class, mood, or other characteristics.
The traditional male festive costume is also rich, beautiful, and modest. If to talk about an everyday dress, it perfectly fits the hot and damp climate of India. Usually, it is a rectangular piece of cloth wrapped around the body.

You can learn more about the traditional Indian costume here: http://nationalclothing.org/26-national ... thing.html

Here you are also several photos of a sari made for a not very wealthy woman. The costume is rather simple but elegant. There is a beautiful pattern on the fabric. The necklace is large and pretty but it’s a bijuterias (imitation jewelry). Many Indian women use imitation jewelry instead of golden ones.

Indian traditional sharara (gharara) – festive women’s attire of various shapes and components (skirt or trousers, choli or kurta, etc). This garment is usually richly adorned and beautiful.

Indian folk outfit called “churidaar”. This costume is very popular among Indian women. They love to wear churidaar because it allows them to carry beauty with considerable simplicity. This attire is comfy because the leggings are tight-fitting and the blouse is long and simple – both garments allow free movement.

Cute Indian sari. By the looks of it, the saree is made from fine natural fabric. And the colors are pretty and vibrant. Also, the girl is wearing elegant anklets.

Ornate Indian folk attire with plenty of cute jewelry. This is wedding sari. By the way, embroidery on choli is gorgeous.

Indian sherwani jacket – male ornate outerwear. This one is made from black velvet and adorned with gold embroidery. His turban is also lovely.
